Before taking any enzymes and supplements make sure and consult with your doctor. It is especially important if your are taking blood thinners or cholesterol reducing medications, to make sure that the enzymes in this plan will not contradict, enhance, or interfere with other prescribed medications you are taking.
I'll start off with the program I used and what worked for me. I do endorse Doctor's Best brand, not because I have any affiliation with them, but because their products are high quality, low cost, and they worked for me. If you click on the links through this website, I receive a 5% commission from Amazon.com for any sales within 30 days. It does not add to your cost and I appreciate you clicking through this site, it helps me recover some of my expenses in putting this website together.
This is the treatment I started out with for the first six weeks.
- Serrapeptase: 40,000 units - enteric coated - 1 capsule three times daily away from food.
- Nattokinase: 2,00 FU capsules - 1 capsule three times daily away from food.
- Acetyl-L-Carnitine: 588 mg. - 1 capsule three times daily with or without food
- Real Krill Oil: 1 soft gel cap three times daily with food (for vegetarian's I do not know of a suitable substitute for Omega-3 fish oils, which provide cardiovascular support and raises your good cholesterol levels in the form of DHA and EPA. A tablespoon of Flax seed oil will provide Omega-3 oils in a different form, ALA, which the body has the ability to convert to DHA and EPA, it is just not quite as efficient.)
Note: Serrapeptase and Nattokinase should be taken without food between meals, or one hour before eating. This is important, because the enzyme needs to activate in the lower intestine, so it can be absorbed into the blood stream, where it will perform its' primary function. If it is taken with food the enteric coated capsule will dissolve in the stomach and be absorbed by the protein in the food and then passed through as waste.
After six weeks I cut back to twice daily on each of the supplements and enzymes above, and continued with this program for six months.
(I still take one of each daily for the health and cardio benefits they provide.)
Serrapeptase:
Dr. Han Neiper, a legendary medical doctor described Serrapeptase as, "The Miracle Enzyme," Serrapeptase has been used widely in clinical practice in Japan and Europe, for over 30 years. This powerful enzyme was isolated from non-pathogenic bacteria found in the digestive tract of the Japanese silkworm. Serrapeptase is what allows the moth to dissolve it's cocoon.
This miracle enzyme digests dead tissue, such as blood clots, cysts, arterial plaque and internal scar tissue.
Nattokinase:
Nattokinase helps the body maintain healthy circulation. It has been a traditional Japanese folk remedy, that has been used for over 1000 years. Natto is a fermented soy food that contains important enzymes. Nattokinase is unmatched by any other food derived enzyme for it's circulation enhancing effects. Nattokinase promotes all around health for the heart, brain and muscles by helping the body keep blood flowing in a healthy way. It also increases oxygen supply to all organs, by increasing circulation. Another benefit of Nattokinase is it's ability to digest dead proteins in the body, which is it's primary function in treating Peyronie's disease. Increased blood circulation is an additional benefit in aiding erection quality and boosting overall cardiovascular health.
Acetyl-L-Carnitine:
Acetyl-L-Carnitine is an amino acid the body uses to turn fat into energy. This amino acid is sometimes referred to as natural Prozac, the emotional boost it gives is definitely noticeable. It can be taken with or without food and is very safe and well tolerated.
Acetyl-L-Carnitine and the drug Tamoxifen were compared in a 3 month double blind study on 48 men with Peyronie's disease, in Italy. Acetyl-L-Carnitine at a dose of 1 g. daily reduced penile curvature, while Tamoxifen did not. In addition the supplement reduced pain and slowed disease progression. The other benefit of Acetyl-L-Carnitine over Tamoxifen was a lack of side effects.
Omega-3 Fish Oil/Real Krill Oil:
I started my program taking Vitamin E gel caps, but my physician recommended switching to Omega-3 Fish Oil. He stated there was a danger of over-thinning my blood with Large doses and possible toxicity build up with Vitamin E, since I was taking quite a few gel caps at first. Omega-3 fish oil provides cardiovascular support and raises your good cholesterol levels.
Vitamin E:
Studies on Vitamin E and its' benefits in treating Peyronie's disease are inconclusive, considering how long Vitamin E has been prescribed for treatment. Double blind study results have been disappointing. I believe the benefits of Vitamin E are greater in topical use, which I will explain in Phase III.I tried out several brands before settling on Doctors Best Real Krill Oil. Real Krill is a 100 percent authentic dietary supplement, a lipid nutrient complex sustainably harvested from Antarctic Krill.
Suggested Use: I started off with 3 softgels, then reduced it to 2 softgels after 6 weeks. I continue to take 1 softgel every day for Cardio-maintenance.
